Refuting China, South Korea says THAAD interceptors not up for ‘negotiation’

Decisions about THAAD missile interceptors to defend against North Korean threats are not a matter for “negotiation” with China, a South Korean presidential official said Thursday, a day after Beijing’s foreign ministry claimed Seoul agreed not to expand the missile defense system.

The controversy started after the countries’ foreign ministers met for five hours in China on Tuesday, with the two sides offering sometimes conflicting accounts of the discussions the next day.
