US’ top North Korea envoy makes the rounds in Seoul

The U.S. pointman on North Korea wrapped up a series of meetings with key South Korean officials in Seoul on Friday, marking the Biden administration’s first major outreach to Seoul since president-elect Yoon Seok-yeol won the presidential election last month. 

U.S. Special Representative for the DPRK Sung Kim arrived in Seoul on Monday for talks with Yoon, as well as current and future government officials, including Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong, Unification Minister Lee In-young, Vice Minister of Unification Choi Young-joon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Noh Kyu-duk.
