Potential Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been told to move on from three players if he gets the job and transfer target Ruben Neves has been handed an ultimatum on his future
Potential incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been told to move on from three players should he be hired as the next United boss.
With there being plenty of talk about outgoings, United have a number of positions that need filling and central midfield is one of those areas.
Long-term target Ruben Neves is set to be offered a new contract at Wolves in order to stave off interest from Old Trafford. But should the Portugal midfielder decline the deal, he could be sold.
Here are Mirror Football’s latest Manchester United headlines.

Ten Hag’s trio issue
Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is seen as one of the favourites for the Manchester United job and has been interviewed for the vacant permanent role.
Should he be named as the next permanent boss, there are a number of things to sort out at Old Trafford including moving on from players who have overstayed their welcome in Manchester.
Former Netherlands international Rene van der Gijp has given Ten Hag a piece of advice and advised him to move on from a trio players he deems as ‘troublemakers.’
Of the three mentioned, one could be out the door before Ten Hag arrives while another has hinted he may move on if the team do not qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Wolves’ Neves decision
Ruben Neves has been an outstanding player for Wolves in the Premier League and has attracted the attention of Manchester United.
The Portugal international’s passing ability coupled with his eye for goal has seen him emerge as a target for United but Wolves have so far managed to keep hold of the 25-year-old.
Reports have emerged that Wolves intend to once again prevent Neves from leaving by offering him a new deal to keep him at Molineux for the forseeable future.
But the club have also prepared to let Neves leave the club if the midfielder decides to reject the new contract.
Conte told to join United
A managerial target before joining Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte has been told to leave Spurs and take over at Manchester United.
Conte has Spurs on the outside looking in for the final UEFA Champions League spot and has slowly transformed the north London outfit back into one of the better teams in the Premier League.
With United not having named a permanent successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Conte’s name continues to linked despite the Italian being in a job.
And Ally McCoist believes the former Premier League title winner could opt to swap London for Manchester if he isn’t backed.
