North Korea announces ‘important’ test of reconnaissance satellite system

North Korea says it conducted a “reconnaissance satellite” development test on Saturday, its second such test in less than a week that comes as South Koreans prepare to elect a new president on Wednesday.

The National Aerospace Development Administration (NADA) and the Academy of Defence Science reportedly guided the “important” test, which also evaluated “data transmission and control command system” along with “various ground satellite control systems,” the Rodong Sinmun said.
