Liverpool boss has sent a message to the club’s fans after watching his side lift the Carabao Cup in a nail-biting final against Chelsea on Sunday.
Caoimhin Kelleher scored the decisive kick, with his opposite number Kepa Arrizabalaga – sent on specifically for the shoot-out with two minutes of extra time remaining – blazing his effort high over the crossbar.
It came following 120 minutes of football in which neither side managed to find the back of the net, but the final was a thriller nonetheless with plenty of talking points.
Before the game Gary Neville insisted the Reds could have an “incredible season” as he performed a U-turn on his previous predictions about Jurgen Klopp’s side.
