Dillian Whyte breaks Tyson Fury silence with Jack Catterall vs Josh Taylor reaction

Dillian Whyte has broken his silence to issue his thoughts on the Jack Catterall controversy – though he’s still yet to comment on his April fight date with Tyson Fury.

Catterall’s defeat to Josh Taylor in Glasgow on Saturday evening snatched the headlines for all the wrong reasons, with the decision proving extremely controversial.

The fight went the distance but Catterall, surprisingly, was overlooked as the victor, with the judge’s scorecards instead seeing Taylor retain his titles.

That decision has led to shock across the boxing world and it was enough to break Whyte from his uncharacteristic silence that has been ongoing for a while.

He issued a one-word verdict on the controversial fight outcome, posting on Twitter: ‘Disgusting’.

Whyte is set to face Tyson Fury at Wembley on April 23rd, with the WBC heavyweight title on the line in Fury’s first UK fight in years.

The bout was officially announced last week, following lengthy delays in negotiation, but all the while, Whyte has remained silent.

His opposing number Fury has been the exact opposite, regularly taking to social media to fire jibes in the direction of Whyte.

The first press conference for the fight following the announcement of the bout is expected to take place this week.

That should see Whyte finally break his silence on his world-title bout, which he has waited years to secure and even lodged a legal challenge against the WBC in regards to.
