Usyk returns to Ukraine following Russia invasion

Josh Taylor will look to defend his undisputed super lightweight titles for the first time as he faces WBO mandatory challenger Jack Catterall on Saturday night.

Catterall stepped aside to allow Taylor to fight Jose Ramirez last May for the undisputed belts but will now get his chance to become a world champion.

‘El Gato’ is undefeated in 26 professional fights but will undoubtedly face his toughest challenger yet in former Commonwealth champion Taylor.

Taylor thinks his rival Catterall – who is a massive underdog – has no way of beating him in their clash unless he catches him with a big punch.

And here is everything you need to know about tonight’s fights…

What time are the fights on?

Taylor and Catterall are expected to make their ring walks anytime from 10pm onwards.

The start time of the main event is subject to the results of the undercard bouts.

Josh Taylor: “I just don’t know how he is going to win. I feel like he is going to try and walk me on to a big shot.

“I think I know what he is doing, I feel like he has been watching me and my previous fight against Regis Prograis, the last southpaw I boxed.

“I fought with emotion and my head due to personal circumstances, so I think I know they are going to try and base their work on me from that fight like tactically and that is not enough.

“I am nice and relaxed, it has been a long two years for everyone. I’m enjoying this I have been starved of it for two years, this is the way big fights should be and I am enjoying it.”

Jack Catterall: “I was mandatory for the WBO title and after waiting two years I have a chance now to capture the undisputed,” he said.

“I have not come up here to just make up the numbers I have been working hard in the gym continuously for the last eighteen months for this opportunity.

“I know what I am capable of and I know how hard I have prepared and I take confidence from this work I have put in. I have certainly done everything in my capability to be unsettled so we will see on Saturday night.”
