Logan Paul has reunited with head boxing trainer Milton Lacroix as talks of a return to the ring have intensified over recent weeks.

Paul is rumoured to be facing Mike Tyson early next year, although Mirror Fighting sources have indicated he could wait until the summer to face UFC legend Nick Diaz.

And he has taken another step towards a ring return as he brought coach Lacroix to the Sports Illustrated awards last night, where he was presenting the “Breakthrough Athlete of the Year” prize.

Lacroix walked the red carpet with Paul and his entourage which includes comedian George Janko and podcast co-host Mike Majlak, snapping a picture with tennis legend Billy Jean King.

He and Paul spent a number of months apart following Paul’s exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather in June, with the YouTube star travelling the world on what Majlak has called an “eternal bender”.

“Logan Paul is on a continuous, eternal bender that will not end,” Majlak said on an episode of their podcast Impaulsive yesterday where his brother Jake appeared as a guest.

Lacroix was spotted with Paul during his trip to the UK, where the YouTuber reunited with his old rival KSI to shoot an episode of Impaulsive as well as ‘The KSI Show’ and a video for his ‘Sidemen’ YouTube channel.

But he wasn’t present when Paul returned to England recently, nor on his other trips, as the YouTube star opted to spend time partying and working on business deals behind the scenes before returning to the ring.

Mirror Fighting understands that Paul’s rumoured exhibition with former world heavyweight champion Tyson that was reportedly set for the early part of next year is unlikely, but a return is imminent.

Our sources indicate that he is more likely to face UFC legend Diaz later next year in the co-main event of a card headlined by his brother Jake fighting Diaz’s brother Nate.

Both Nick and Nate are currently under contract with the UFC, and will need to fight once more each in the early part of next year before they can be released to box.

Both sets of siblings will be in attendance at the Amalie Arena in Florida next week when Jake’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor faces the Diaz brothers’ close friend Chris Avila on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley 2.

During an appearance on the True Geordie Podcast in September, Paul said that he has a next opponent in mind, but refused to be drawn on who it may be.

“I know who my next opponent is,” he said. “He’s a fighter.

“I don’t want to be a f***ing full-on professional boxer, I literally have no interest in doing that.

“I have an interest in putting on the biggest shows in the world – I have to weigh how good the guy is and how much they’re bringing to the table.

“It’s risk vs reward, it’s a f***ing business – smarter, not harder, baby!

“I’ve got my next guy in mind, but I don’t know [when], I’m on some other s*** right now.”
