‘His time will come’ – Jadon Sancho tipped to overcome Manchester United jinx

Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre believes Jadon Sancho’s time will come amid concerns over the youngster’s confidence.

The 21-year-old has struggled since his mega-money move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer and has yet to register a goal or an assist since his switch.

Sancho toppled records during his time in the Bundesliga becoming the youngest-ever player to reach 50 assists in the short time he was there.

Despite his lack of playing time, he featured in Gareth Southgate’s last international squad, where he started and tormented the Andoran defenders, but he was left out for the upcoming break ahead of England qualifiers against Albania and San Marino.

With his widely reported struggles, Sky Germany directed a James Bond-related jibe after seven games without a goal or assist.

The Frenchman has called on Sancho to rediscover the form at Signal Iduna Park that lead to his move to Old Trafford, speaking to MyBettingSites he said: “He needs to rediscover his form that led to his signing at United.

“His time will come, I’m sure of that, the sooner the better. He needs to stay focused and believe in himself because he’s got talent, that’s for sure.

“When you change the formation like that [with five at the back], you overload the defensive part if you play with Fred and Scott [McTominay], so you have to sacrifice a forward. But the season is long, there are a lot of twists and turns, suspensions, injuries, so Sancho’s time will come.

“He has enough qualities to break into the team and to bring what he did at Dortmund.”
